One of those rare August days, New Britain Reservoir, Southington, Connecticut. August 8, 2020, 4:16 PM. A mass of cool, dry air comes in from the northwest, breaking the mid-summer heat and humidity. Color is back. Deep blue sky with puffy fair-weather clouds. A soft breeze ripples the lake. Almost overnight hundreds of little yellow flowers freckle the leafy ground cover that sort of looks like grass from a distance. Carpe diem.
